Gold leaves falling on the ground,
Joining in sweet autumn-sound,
Warm winds swirling sea-deep sky
Rain from lifeless treetops high
Gold leaves falling.
Red leaves shower freely round
Caring not where they are bound,
Seeking life before they die;
Red leaves falling.
Leaves that recent frost has browned
By a better beauty crowned,
Winging down they swiftly fly,
Sing without a halting sigh:
Loving life they finally found;
Brown leaves falling.
