Congrats!
Awww. You is all growed up now and a real live missionary. time to break out the long skirts and discard your red clothes:-)
I think missionaries are supposed to wear lots of friendly colors. For you, I suggest pink.
Thanks, folkses. But I have to tell you...
I wore my red dress yesterday (and for the appointment ceremony last night). When I showed up in the morning, all the missionaries who had just come back from Italy said, "oh, the Italians will love you--you will fit in so well there with your red." And I said, "yes! God knows what He's doing!"
The only problem was that it kind of clashed with the shade of red in the Italian flag I was holding...
I was worrying about my American sense of taste to someone who's been in Europe so long she speaks English with a European accent, and she said that they tend to like impractical shoes, so I should be fine.
I have also picked up on the fact that I have to watch out for Italian men (which means those are the exact words everyone says to me). Now all I have to figure out is how.
And I hear that you do see a lot of flashy red Italian cars around. They have a speed limit now: something like 150 kph (which is around 95 mph). And Venice and Florence make wonderful day trips from Modena.
But I will miss "the Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" at baseball games--and baseball, too.
=D Yay!
*sniff* Gonna miss you.
But at least you'll be home when I come back in a week, right?
Congratulations! I expect to hear many excellent stories of your time there :).
I'm so happy for you :). Wow ... Italia ...
awh - miss missionary wahoo!!!!!!
